If you’ve looked around the internet recently you’ve probably noticed that there’s a lot of jewelry out there. There are endless choices at a wide range of prices but it can be hard to know the quality of what you’re looking at. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind:
- Check to see if the piece is made with noble (real) metals or base metals. Just about all jewelry will have a metal content mark on the inside if it’s made of a precious metal. There will usually be at least one other mark as well, a hallmark or a stamp, put there by the maker of the jewelry.
- If the piece is made with gems, make sure you know what they are. Diamonds? Cubic Zirconia? For example, With You uses natural diamonds and AAA CZ.
- Find out if the piece is handmade or machine made. Generally speaking handmade pieces are higher quality and more distinctive.
