Summer is, hands down, my favorite time of year. Largely because of the steady stream of visitors from near and far who fill our home with their love and laughter.
I LOVE a full house.
Perhaps it’s because I grew up in a house where there was always a flurry of activity. I can still hear the sound of our front door swinging open and closed as friends dropped by to play and stayed for dinner. My mother made it a place where everyone wanted to be.
As an adult, my summers have been shaped by those days. We invite friends and family to spend time with us - unwinding, cooking, playing, staying up late and sharing stories. Every family has traditions carried on from generation to generation. I hope that as my children grow up, the memories of these summer days and nights spent with loved ones sticks with them and is something they embrace and bring forward into their own adult lives. For me, they will always be the times I treasure most.
